Watson has published 8 books, including the definitive biology textbooks, The Molecular Biology of the Gene and The Molecular Biology of the Cell. He invented a new genre, the scientific memoir, in The Double Helix, his personal account of discovering the structure of DNA. Watson's latest book DNA: The Secret of Life, appeared in 2003 and he continues to write an autobiographical memoir whose publication is schedule for 2004.
